Shoreline Campgrounds

Shoreline camping.

Self-contained campers may find that shoreline camping fits their interest best. Although the shade is missing unless you bring your own, you can get your campsite as close to the water as you want and keep your boat either beached or tethered to the shore by making use of the Dispersed Camping facilities around the lake. Be prepared to carry your water, and portable toilet facilities are centrally located.

Day use and overnight camping at a nominal fee is allowed in these areas. Portable restrooms are provided and water is available near by. Since this is lake-bottom, the surface is rocky and uneven in many places. No other fixed facilities (tables or fire rings) are provided. Cars must be parked carefully with parking brakes and chocking tires recommended.

Fire permits are available from any Forest Service office or Ranger in the field. Fires must be attended at all times and may be no larger than a 4 foot circumference. No bonfires are allowed due to extreme fire hazard.
